About The Band

The Om-en are a talented rising group of spiritually connected souls sharing the positive message and energy of their original songs. They have played locally for the last 5 years since their inception and will be playing the Great South Bay Music Festival in July for the 5th time running. The band has enjoyed critical success for the original songs on the first album “Songs for Family and Friends” and has its second album in production with singles” I Am The Mountain” and “Should Have Been You”. The Om-en have been fortunate to play before BB King and the Doobie Brothers and last year on the final day with Graham Nash.

Proceeds from the album sales and gigs are donated 100% to teen suicide prevention.

The Om-en are John Sparling, Shannon Gibbons, Peter Dillon, Brian Sagerstrand, Adam Roe and Kim Townsend. The name is from the sacred sound and spiritual symbol “Om” and the band loves to play original spiritual songs. All living beings are sacred and the music flows through our spirits making us eternal.

John Sparling is lead songwriter, rhythm guitar and lead and back up vocals. Lead vocalist Shannon Gibbons, and our 18 year old star, with a voice reminiscent of Adele and Janis Joplin, packs the power to the original songs and covers. Peter Dillon,”the thumper”, is the bass and Brian Sagerstrand, “master of djembe disaster”, djembe and drums rounds out the rhythm section. Kim Townsend and Adam Roe are lead guitarists.
